2 am in the night and head full of thoughts when I realized how trapped I was in my own mind. I needed to get out of it. I needed to breathe. I wanted to be free.

I sat down to contemplate. Life had not been fair at all. But it was high time I changed that perspective. Do you know what you require for taking that one step? MOTIVATION.


Motivation is the key to happiness. Once you are motivated to do something, things automatically start falling in place. I will not say it was easy for me to find motivation, it was no cakewalk. Being a depression survivor and suffering from major anxiety issues for the last 4 years, it was probably the most difficult thing for me to do. Every time I thought of doing something that made me happy, I felt crippled. My mind went numb, my body felt paralyzed. Just thinking of doing something, even simply getting out of my bed drained all my energy. I knew I was talented and capable, I just had to take a deep breath and tell myself, "I can do this."

That is it. That is all it takes. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Think of something that makes you happy and then tell yourself you can do it, you are worth it.

You do not need others to tell you how strong you are or what you are capable of. Feel it in yourself. All by yourself. Build that confidence.

Think about the past, think of all those incidents that depressed you, pulled you down, destroyed your peace and then remind yourself how you survived all of that and how far you have come. From that point onward, promise to yourself that there will be no looking back anymore. Take that one step forward. I promise it will do wonders. When you motivate yourself to do something productive and something that makes you happy, the sense of satisfaction and achievement you get out of it cannot be explained in words.


Wake up in the morning, look at yourself in the mirror and repeat "I can do this" five times every day. Do the same exercise at night before you go to sleep. Believe me, you will see a change. Motivate yourself every day to do something you love, to do something for yourself, to make yourself happy. Take small steps. You will reach there.

I am talking from experience, it works like magic.
